College Libraries

Sandringham College LibrarySandringham College has a Library on each campus. They are open from 8.00am to 4.00pm.

Students and staff can borrow from both libraries.

The library supports the curriculum by providing up to date resources and teaching research skills to students. The Libsite, which is a ‘living’ site and available to all students and staff, has information about current fiction and useful websites for information about effective research and study skills, writing bibliographies and essay writing. To view our Libsite, please visit this link.

A major focus of the Libraries is to support the College literacy program by promoting the reading of quality fiction.

Students in all year levels participate in the annual Sandringham College Reading Challenge as well as other activities which focus on fostering a love of reading. A Book Club meets weekly and an annual ‘Readers’ Cup Challenge’ is held where students work in teams to score the most points by completing  a series of activities about books selected by the participants. Students are encouraged to suggest book titles to add to the Library collection. A culture of students recommending titles to each other exists.

Homework Club runs at both campuses. For information about homework club at both senior and junior campuses, please visit this link.

The Libraries at lunchtime are busy. Students can complete homework, read magazines, read fiction or non- fiction, play cards or board games.

Sandringham College Libraries offer a supportive environment for all students.
